S U N D A Y The Cataracts received strong goal tending once again from A J Whiffen as they beat the Southern Shore Breakers 5-1 in game two of the Herder Memorial Trophy Final. Whiffen made 35 saves in the game. Michael Cole, Danny Wicks, Rodi Short, Andre Gill and Kyle McGuirk scored for the Cataracts. Kyle Tibbo had the Breakers goal. The C-B-R Renegades are the 2018-19 St. John’s Junior Hockey League champions. It took double overtime, or five periods of hockey in game seven of the series before Drew Stonehouse scored to give the Renegades their first ever Junior Hockey League title. They include Denise Hickey, John McGrath, Clarence (Clar) Brooks, Fred (Butch) Reddy, Gerry O’Brien, Gord Dunphy, Philip Ruiz and Nels Wilkins.
