  The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators will be in St. John’s this September.     Memorial SeaHawks Basketball play Nathan Barker has received an honour in the AUS Basketball Circles.   Barker has been selected BY THE FANS  as the University Sports Men’s Basketball Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.   In the regular season Barker finished second in league scoring. He played in all 20 games and averaged 21.4 points per game.  In the playoff Barker averaged 19 points per game. The leader Osman Omar was top as he averaged 21.9 points per game. JULIA HOWARD TO HALL OF FAME

    Julia Howard of St. John’s has been honoured by Simon Fraser University. She will be inducted into the SFU Hall of Fame achieving multiple NAIA Championship titles in Cross Country running , Indoor and Outdoor Track, SFU Athlete of the Year and representing Canada internationally! Howard won 10 individual NAIA championships, seven relay championships and was an integral part of four championship teams during her time on Burnaby Mountain.
