QUEBEC MAYOR SAYS NO TO HOCKEY TEAM FROM DEAN MACDONALD

Mayor Jean Lamarche has informed Newfoundland businessman Dean MacDonald that his plans to install an East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) team at the future Coliseum in Trois-Rivières will not take place. The municipal councilors were said not to have been consulted. The businessman sent a letter to the municipal councilors of Trois-Rivières, of which Radio-Canada obtained a copy, to inform them that Mayor Lamarche had rejected his business proposal, alleging that the City of Trois-Rivières chose to go in another direction.   The East Coast Senior Hockey League held it’s draft Tuesday night. The Ceebee Stars selected Eli Lichtenwald. He is a native of Saskatoon Saskatchewan and played with Jacksonville in the ECHL in the 2018-19 season and had one goals and three assists in 13 games and Trever Pittman both forwards. Clarenville chose defenseman Thomas Hedges and forward Shannon Moores.
