  Two Newfoundlander ‘s who are now playing hockey away from home have been selected to attend the Canadian National Junior Hockey teams Selection Camp. That takes place in Oakville Ontario December 9th to 12th     Alex Newhook of St. John’s is playing hockey this season with Boston College. He has played 13 games so far this season and has six goals and five assists.     Dawson Mercer of Bay Roberts is honing his skills with Drummondville in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. US BEAT CANADA AT PARA HOCKEY TO FINISH FIRST

  The United States finished in first place at the Para Hockey tournament being held in Paradise. The US downed Canada 4-1 in the final game of the round robin. HOCKEY IN CENTRAL NL STILL A POSSIBILITY

  It appears there will be senior hockey in Central Newfoundland starting in the New Year. The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts and the Gander Flyers have apparently reached an agreement to play hockey starting in January. It’s indicated that the season which will be 12 games will start in January. Sources say negotiations are underway with an as of yet unnamed third team to play with the Cats and Flyers.…
