There will be hockey in Central Newfoundland this winter. The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Gander Flyers will start their season February 1st  when the Cataracts travel to Gander to play the Flyers.   SOUTHERN SHORE 5–CLARENVILLE 2 Southern Shore Breakers and Northeast Eagles came up with wins in East Coast Senior Hockey League play Saturday night. The Breakers defeated Clarenville Caribous 5-2.   Jeremy Nicholas led the Shore with two goals and singles came from Shane Kavanagh, Brandon Pye and Blake Dalton.  Chad Earle and Jeremy Masters scored for the Caribous. The Newfoundland and Labrador rink skipped by Daniel Bruce will go against Manitoba Number 2 team skipped by Jacques Gauthier for the Canadian Junior Men’s Curling championship Sunday.       S A T U R D A Y    Deer Lake Red Wings went to Port aux Basques Saturday night and blasted the Mariners 9-1. Ryan Penney and Drew Langdon scored a pair of goals each for the winners.
