RYAN WINS SENIOR MEN’S CURLING TITLE

  Keith Ryan and his Labrador City Curling team of Dennis Langdon, Barry Edwards and Mike Ryan are the 2020 Newfoundland and Labrador senior men’s curling champions. The Ryan team defeated Alex Smith 3-1 scoring twice in the ninth end to win the title. They now will head to Chilliwack BC March 22 to 28th for the Canadian championships. …

CARL ENGLISH TO RETIRE FEB 23RD

  Carl English has made it official. He is retiring from the game of basketball.The official ceremony is set for Feb 23rd at Mile One.  English played for and helped bring a professional basketball team to St. John’s The Edge is a team he signed with on November 15th 2017. In Patrick’s Cove-Angels Cove, English practiced basketball on a makeshift hoop built by his uncle beside Route 100, a two-lane highway in front of their house.
