      Brian Kielly scored 16 points and Mike Pope added 14 as Swilers defeated George Street Beer Marker 52-43 in one of three Metro Basketball games Thursday night. Dave Banfield hooped 13 points for the losers and Terry Follett added 11.   M5 defeat Fougere Menctenton Architects 45-28.   The St. John’s Ice Caps meet the Binghamton Senators at Mile One Tuesday night with a return match set for Wednesday night. The Ice Caps are tied for first place in the Northern Division with the Toronto Marlies. Both teams have 3-1 records. The Ice Caps have won two in a row at Mile One. DURNFORD WINS CAPE TO CABOT

    Ed Durnford was first across the finish line in the 2015 20 kilometre Cape to Cabot Road Race on Sunday. His winning time was 1:18.03. Mark Hayward finished second in 1:20.14.  Trevor Tracey was third with a time of 1:21.24     The first female to cross the finish line by Cabot Tower was Krissy Dooling in 1:32.34.  Melanie Irvine was second and her time was 1:23.17.Allison Hobeika was third in 1:33.47.
