    Veteran Corner Brook Baseball player Darren Colbourne came away with three awards at the Corner Brook Baseball League annual awards presentation Friday night. Colbourne who plays with the Hawks was the league’s top batter, his team’s most valuable player and named the league’s most valuable player for the 2015 season. Also Darren’s son and teammate Matt came away winning two awards.        S U N D A Y  The Ice Caps get a split with Bridgeport and pickup three points. Sunday Bridgeport win 3-2 in a shootout but because the game went to the shootout the Ice Caps get one point. Mark Barberio and Michael McCarron scored in the game for the Ice Caps. McCarrons goal at 19:58 of the third forced the game into overtime and eventually to the shootout. The St. John’s Privateers defeat the Western Kings 8-3 in Major Midget Hockey play Saturday night.     The St. John’s Maple Leafs were 5-1 winners over the Tri Pen Osprey. Cody Langmead led the way with a pair of goals and also a pair of assists. Kyle McGrath, Danny Rice and Tyler Wall added single markers.. The Tri Pen goal came from Mark Barrett.
