St. John’s will be the site this year for three Canadian Rugby Championship games. British Columbia Bears, Prairie Wolf Pack, Ontario Blues and Atlantic Rock will be the teams competing for the title. Each team plays four games. The St John`s games will be played at Swilers Field July 2nd  , as the Atlantic Rock face Ontario Blues. The Atlantic Rock face BC Bears and on July 21st it’s a match against Prairie Wolf Pack. Greg Smith and his Caribous Curling rink of lead Craig Laing, second Kyle Barron and third McNeil Lamswood have won the provincial under 21 men’s curling championship. Bell Island Blues moved into third place in the Avalon East Senior Hockey League standings Sunday with a 5-2 win over Southern Shore Breakers.
