ICE CAPS LOSE 4th AT HOME

Make it four losses in a row for the Ice Caps against the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins. The home town team lost 6-4 at Mile One before 5056 fans. They have also lost their first four home games in 2016 and have one win in their last five games. The Ice Caps had a 3-2 lead after the first period and the game was tied 4-all going to the third. Bud Holloway, Mark MacMillan, Max Friberg and Morgan Ellis scored the Ice Caps goals. Saturday and Sunday they face the first place Toronto Marlies.…

Two members of the St. John’s Maple Leafs Midget hockey team have been named to the first all-star team at the East Coast Ice Jam major might hockey tournament being played in Bedford Nova Scotia. Josh Langmead played in two games in the tournament and compiled a 0.92 goals against average in the two games he played.  In the provincial midget hockey league so far this season, Langmead has appeared in 12 games for the Maple Leafs and has eight wins and three losses for a 2.90 goals against average. Veteran Senior Hockey League play Sean Wadden has left the Central West Senior hockey League and has signed with the Northeast Eagles of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League.
