      Holy Cross are the 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador Masters Men’s Soccer champions. Holy Cross edged Feildians 2-1 Sunday to claim the title. Bernie Manning, the tournaments most valuable player scored the winning goal at 25 minutes. Scott Edwards got the shutout. They will now go to the Eastern Canadian Championships. Feildians defeated C-B-S 4-1 Saturday to finish first in the standings. Pat Kennedy led the way with three goals and David Webb had a single.     The St. John’s Senior Men’s Fastpitch Softball League has named their player of the month for July.   Kenny Gosse of the NTV Hitmen had a great month. He played in seven league games had 13 hits in 25 plate appearances for a .520 batting average. He scored nine runs had one double and one home run and eight runs batted in.   Gosse helped his team come away with five wins and three losses in the league play.   In a game on July 21st Gosse went five for five in a game against Kelly’s Pub Junior…
