    The big story in local sports today is in softball. Five fast pitch softball players from Newfoundland are members of the World Fast Pitch softball championship team The Toronto Gators. Shortstop Shane Boland was the hero in the championship game, He hit a three runs homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Gators a 6-3 walkoff victory over the defending three time champions Hill United Chiefs.
