  Gerry Stone’s double in the fifth inning cleared the bases as Holy Cross scored three runs and go on  to hand Storm a 5-1 loss in St. John’s senior baseball play Thursday night.   Sean Janes who came on in relief of started Vinny Grace with the game tied at one all picks up the win.     It’s the best showing ever by Newfoundland and Labrador at Baseballs’s Canada Cup which was held in Alberta this week. The Newfoundland Selects lost 4-2 to Quebec in the bronze medal game and finish fourth.  The Gold Medal was won by Saskatchewan who beat BC 6-1.  Daniel Hogarth went the distance for Newfoundland and Labrador in the bronze medal game.
