  Holy Cross and Feildians played two games basically on Thursday night   First they completed a game from June 21st. Gerry Stone’s solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning earned Holy Cross an 8-7 win. Stone was credited with the win and Brad Roche takes the loss.   The second game was a wild one. Feildians edged Cross 14-13. Both teams used several pitchers.   Aaron Flood who pitched one inning gets the win. Alex Walsh the first of four pitchers started the game. CAPITALS CHAMPS AGAIN

The St. John’s Capitals claimed their third straight provincial baseball title and 16th in past 17 years as they defeated Corner Brook Barons 6-2 Saturday at Jubilee field in Corner Brook. Scott Goosney pitched a three hitter in picking up his second win of the tournament and seeing the Caps sweep the best of seven series in straight games. Mike Tavenor takes the loss in the final game. James Walsh belted out three hits for the Caps in this game. Following the game the individual awards were announced.
