PROVINCIAL TRIPLE A MIDGET HOCKEY

    The 2017 provincial Triple A Midget hockey playoffs will begin Friday. Five teams will be in Deer Lake for the championships.   Shane Boland of Southern Shore Breakers leads the individual scoring race in the playoffs in ther Avalon East senior hockey setup. Boland has played in all four of his teams games and has one goal and five assists for six points. There are five players tied for second place with four points each.     Liam Hynes of Southern Shore Breakers is the leading scorer in the St. John’s Junior Hockey League as the regular schedule starts to wind down.  Hynes has played in 28 games this season and has scored 27 goals and added 31 assists for 58 points. Teammate Peter Kavanagh is a distant second. Kavanagh has appeared in 24 games and has potted 19 goals and setup 25 others for 44 points.
