Paradise native Sarah Davis has been named to Canada’s National women’s hockey team. Davis plays with the Calgary Inferno in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and has won a championship with that team last year. She also played for the Canadian Under 18 women’s team. She also played with Minnesota Golden Gophers women’s hockey team for four seasons. …

Seventh games of any sports series are exciting. The seventh game of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League final lived up to that Friday night. The series between the Southern Shore Breakers and Northeast Eagles was a back and forth affair. Game seven had its dramatic moment as it was decided in overtime after 60 minutes of regular play. Chris Mooney scored his second goal of the game at 5:01 of overtime to lift the Eagles to a 4-3 win over the the Southern Shore Breakers. That win moves the Eagles into the best of seven final…
