Colin O’Neil and Daniel Toope had two goals each for the Blades James O’Brien, Michael Broders had singles. The gets goals from Dakota Warren, Lyndon Thorne, Mike Pittman, Conner Stevens, and Nathan Ledrew The next game is Sunday at 2:30 at Whitbourne The Flyers lead the series 2-1.       A forward with the St. Johns Ice Caps has been named the American Hockey League player of the month for February. Chris Terry played in 12 games for the Ice Caps during the month. He scored nine goals and nine assists for a league high 18 points. He had a plus 9 rating. Terry is in second place in the AHL scoring with 50 points on 21 goals and 29 assists in 38 games.…

Bally Haly Super League Curling ended its round robin play Tuesday night. Matthew Smith beat Greg Smith 8-3, Greg Smith downed Julie Pitcher 8-3, Ken Bavis upset Toby McDonald 6-5 and Bill Jenkins doubled Gary Perry 6-3. So Jenkins finishes first with a 12-2 record McDonald placed second at 10-4; Greg Smith ended up with a 9-5 record and Matthew Smith was at 8-6.   The 2017 Bantam AAA Female Provincials championships  are set for this weekend at the Glovertown Gardens in Glovertown.Teams competing this weekend are the Host team – Central Ice Pak, Western Warriors, Eastern Ice Breakers and Tri Pen Ice.
