  The Newfoundland Growlers scored three straight goals to beat the Reading Royals  3-1 Wednesday evening at the Santander Arena.   Both teams played an even up-tempo first period that ended in a scoreless 20 minutes of action but the second period registered a flurry of excitement. Reading Royals forward Frank DiChaiara opened up the scoring on a powerplay opportunity when a loose puck made its way to his stick and he snapped it between the legs of Growlers goaltender Michael Garteig.
