    Kyle McGrath of St. John’s Caps  is the leading scorer in the early going of the St. John’s Junior Hockey League. He has played five games and has scored four goals and assisted on eight others for 12 points.   The Newfoundland Growlers made it back to back wins on Tuesday night defeating Reading Royals 7-3 at Mile One.  Scott Pooley scored twice one of his goals on the power play. James Melinday, Scott Pooley also on the power play, Colt Conrad and Aaron Zuchik noth on the power play accounted for the Growlers goals. Maksim Zhulkov was in goal for the win making 19 saves. HOCKEY CANADA TO DECIDE ECSHL FUTURE

Hockey Canada is to rule on whether the East Coast Senior Hockey League can operate this season with five teams. Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador has said the league, seeing they refused Conception CeeBee Stars to enter the league this season.  The decision by HNL was appealed to Hockey Canada by the East Coast League and now its a wait and see attitude. If Hockey Canada allows the league to proceed there will be five teams competing  Conception Bay Blues, Southern Shore Breakers, St. John’s Caps, Northeast Eagles and Clarenville Caribous.…
