    The St. John’s Senior Men’s Fast Pitch Softball League has named Sean Cleary of Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs as player of the Month for the Month of August. He was 2-0 in league play and 4-0 at the National championships.  He had a 3-2 record at the International Softball Tournament. In the month of august he recorded 135 strikeouts. Cleary Helped The Toronto Gators To A 2nd Place Finish At The ISC World Tournament And Was Named 2nd Team All-World Pitcher. The win gives the Aces a 2-0 lead in the best of five series. Brian Bennett gets the win. He goes the distance allowing four runs on eight hits. He walked and struck out four. Brad Gushue fell to Reid Carruthers at the Pinty’s Grand Slam Curling Tour which started in Paradise on Tuesday night. Carruthers stole single points in the seventh and eighth ends for a 5-3 win over Gushue. In a battle of the Newfoundland teams in Tier 2 at the Curling event in Paradise.
