Update: (9/6/2015 – 10:25 PM) Holy Cross defended their Challenge Cup Soccer Title as they beat St. Lawrence 2-0. Jake Warren and Kyle Williams scored the goals. Thomas Pieroway gets the shutout and was named the tournament’s MVP.   Earlier Story:   Holy Cross, the defending champions, meet Arch Rivals St.Lawrence Laurentians for the 2015 provincial Challenge Cup Soccer Title. St.Lawrence moved to the final with a 2-nothing win over Mount Pearl Saturday. Mike Gregory scored both Laurentians goals and John Douglas gets the shutout.     The 2015 provincial senior men’s fast pitch softball championships start Friday at Lions Park. There are five teams looking for the title and they include Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs, NTV Hitmen, The Bigs, Dance Academy Dodgers and Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians. There are two games set for Friday night. At six o clock The Dance Academy meet NTV Hitmen and followed at eight with The Bigs against Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians. HOLY CROSS CBS FINAL

      Holy Cross defeated Feildians 2-nothing in Breen’s Jubilee ladies soccer semi-final play. Julie Cocker scored the game winning goal at 56 minutes and at 66 minutes Jessie Noseworthy added the insurance marker. Jamie Crocker gets the shutout. Holy Cross will now meet C-B-S Kirby Group in the championship game one o clock Saturday at the Topsail Field.   Soccer NL  will announce its All-Star team and award winners for the Breen’s Jubilee Trophy league, at noon on Saturday at Topsail Field in CBS.   The awards will be followed at 12:30pm by the women’s championship game between Top-ranked CBS Kirby Group…
