The Hawks get a five hit pitching performance by Colin Wood and they shutout Monarchs 7-0 in the fifth and deciding game of the best of five semi-final series. The St. John’s IceCaps, now the farm team in the A-H-L of Montreal Canadiens have signed a former Ice Caps player who toiled with Winnipeg Jets. Nicolas Blanchard has been signed to a tryout contract with the IceCaps. Last season, Blanchard played in 63 games with the IceCaps. He collected 14 points and 81 penalty minutes.…
