SHAMROCKS SR BASEBALL CHAMPS

            Shamrocks won the 2016 St. John’s senior baseball championship on Thursday night with a 4-3 come from behind win over two time defending champions Roebothan McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings. They win the best of seven final four games to two. The Shamrocks scored the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh.     The Central West senior hockey league will operate with three teams this season. Clarenville Caribous, Gander Flyers and Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts. BRONZE BASEBALL MEDAL FOR CAPS

St. John’s claimed the bronze medal at the Atlantic Pee Wee Baseball championships and they were leading 18-8 over New Brunswick when the game was forfeited to St. John’s by a score of 7-0. A New Brunswick player was ejected for malicious contact. NB gad no subs left to put in the game so it was forfeited to St. John’s.
