MULLOWNEY TO LEAVE ICE CAPS

    The St. John’s IceCaps announced that Rob Mullowney, Vice President, Operations for the club, will be leaving organization to take a senior management position with the new American Hockey League (AHL) franchise in Belleville, Ontario. While the new Belleville entry – which will serve as the Ottawa Senators AHL affiliate – does not take to the ice until the Fall of 2017, Mullowney will join the organization in January.   Ten Newfoundland players and two Newfoundland coaches have been named to  Softball Canada’s list of forty (40) athletes who have been named to the 2017 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool.Team Canada head coach John Stuart (Langley, BC) and assistant coaches John Hill (St. John’s, NL) and Les Howey (Conception Bay, NL) will return as the coaching staff for the 2017 WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship in Whitehorse, YT, where Canada will be defending its World title.
