ST. JOHN’S – Known as the toughest road race in North America the Orange Theory Cape To Cabot was won today by Michael Kondro in a time of 1:21:27. The 20km course winds its way from Cape Spear to Cabot Tower in Signal Hill. With elevations gains from sea level to 167 metres (501 feet) and several steep uphill and downhill sections the last mile is the 500 foot hill climb to the finish with average angles of 45 degrees. ST. JOHN’S, NL – The opening round of the Remax Super League curling competition kicked off last night with six matches at the ReMax Centre in St John’s. This league is made up of the top teams in the province and players who compete on the national level. Matches are Tuesday nights with additional game on Sunday morning. The 2021/22 ReMaxSuper League curling is set to go at the ReMax Center in St John’s on Tuesday, Oct 12 at 6:00pm with 14 teams this year. Games will be played Tuesdays with extra games the following Sunday. The Super League exists to allow the St. John’s Curling Club (SJCC) elite teams the opportunity to play against the best and better prepare them to compete in Provincial and National play downs. It includes young baseball star 15 year old Jaida Lee who won both the top batter and top pitcher at the 2021 Atlantic girls’ under-16 baseball championship in Summerside, P.E.I., in August where NL won the Atlantic championships.
