7 NFLDERS NAMED TO NATIONAL SOFTBALL TEAM

    Softball Canada has announced  the list of seventeen (17) athletes from the Men’s National Team Athlete Pool who have been named to the 2019 WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship roster. The event will take place in Prague/Havlickuv Brod, Czech Republic from June 13-23, 2019. There are seven Newfoundland players named to the team. Ryan Boland, Shane Boland, Sean Cleary, Brad Ezekiel, Kyle Ezekiel, Jason Hill and Stephen Mullaley Team Canada won bronze at the previous WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship held in Whitehorse in 2017. The Newfoundland Growlers return to Mile One this Saturday as they host Brampton Beast. But they will be without forward and second in team scoring Giorgio Estephan. He has been recalled for the second time this month by the AHL Marlies.  The Growlers are first overall in the East Coast League with a record of 14-6-1 for 29 points.
