  Nathan Barker is the Memorial male athlete of the week He averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2 assists in the Sea-Hawks home weekend sweep of the Acadia Axemen.  Barker currently leads the AUS in scoring at 23.4 PPG Sydney Stewart is the Memorial female athlete of the week. She did average 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the Sea-Hawks weekend series split with the Acadia Axewomen. The Newfoundland Growlers 8-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night in Jacksonville after dropping a 2-0 decision to the Icemen. Former St. John’s Maple Leaf Kris Newbury scored what would be the game-winning goal at the 4:57 mark of the second period after tucking in a rebound past Growlers goaltender Michael Garteig. The second Icemen goal would come after an errant puck found its way about Garteig, who caught the puck but fell back into his own cage before the play was blown dead.                         The Toronto Marlies have re-assigned Brady Ferguson and Giorgio Estephan back to the to the Newfoundland Growlers.
