EDGE SIGN 10TH PLAYER FOR 2019-20 SEASON

The St. John’s Edge Basketball team for the upcoming season continues to take shape.  Elijan Macon a six foot nine forward from Columbus, Ohio has signed with the Edge for the 2019-2020 season. He has played in Bosnia, Hungary and Chile. He played for four seasons at West Virginia University. He led the Mountaineers to three NCAA tournaments and two sweet 16’s. The Edge now have ten players under contract for the season.   The impasse with regards to allowing the Conception Bay CeeBees into the East Coast senior hockey league continues.  The five teams in the league last year and the CeeBees met Sunday for several hours but no resolution has been found.  Clarenville Caribous General Manager Ivan Hapgood says “ We are still working on a deal with the CeeBees that we hope to have done over the next couple of days.” Hapgood goes on to say “ We have delayed our draft until Wednesday to see if we can do it all on Wednesday night, both the draft and a…

There have been a couple of roster moves involving the Growlers.  Zack O’Brien who was up with the Marlies in Toronto has been reassigned to the Growlers. And 24 year goalie Angus Redmond has been assigned to the Growlers from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.  In order to make room for Redmond the Growlers have placed Patrick Munson in Waivers. Munson played in three games and had a 3.31 goals against average and a save percentage of .904.…

EDGE MAKE ANOTHER SIGNING

  Tyrone Watson a 6’5 225lb Forward from Hamilton, Ontario has signed a 2019-2020 NBLC Player Contract with the St. John’s Edge.  Watson, a 6 year pro, will be entering his fifth season in the NBLC after stops in Orangeville and Halifax.   The 2015 NBLC Canadian of the Year played in 16 games last season for the Halifax Hurricanes before his season was cut short due to injury.  In those 16 games, Watson averaged 9.8ppg, 3.9rpg and 2.8apg while shooting 48.8% from the field.
