HAPGOOD FRUSTRATED WITH HOCKEY NEGOTIATIONS

1 min read

The impasse with regards to allowing the Conception Bay CeeBees into the East Coast senior hockey league continues.

The five teams in the league last year and the CeeBees met Sunday for several hours but no resolution has been found.

Clarenville Caribous General Manager Ivan Hapgood says “ We are still working on a deal with the CeeBees that we hope to have done over the next couple of days.” Hapgood goes on to say “ We have delayed our draft until Wednesday to see if we can do it all on Wednesday night, both the draft and a deal with the CeeBees.”

Hapgood admits he knows its frustrating for fans but adds “But not so frustrating as it is for me”.

Hapgood was frank saying “ The time and hours this is taking is unbelievable. It’s easy to sit back and say do it and move on but when four teams parted ways with the CeeBees before, it wasn’t on good terms and to rebuild that relationship is taking time.”

Hapgood says the earliest start date would be November 15th weekend and only if a deal is reached this week.
