  The individual scoring race in the Junior Hockey League is very close with one point separating the top scorer and the two players tied for second place. Blake Fudge of C-B-R is leading the race with 26 points from 11 goals and 15 assists. Kyle McGrath of the St. John’s Caps and Nick Gosse of CBR both have 25 points. Memorial Sea Hawks have named their athletes of the week for the past weeks play. The male athlete of the week is again from the men’s basketball team. Cole Long helped MUN win two games this weekend against Acadia. In the first game he had 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists. GROWLERS ANNOUNCE A NEW SIGNING

   The Newfoundland Growlers, have signed Forward Mike Crocock to a standard ECHL player contract.  Crocock, who is 25  appeared in 7 games this season with the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Birmingham Bulls where he has tallied one assist and four penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, Crocock played collegiality at Sacred Heart University for four seasons and was captain of the squad for two years. He suited up for 130 regular-season contests where he recorded 4 goals and 17 assists for a total of 21 points and 48 penalty minutes. He is expected to be in the lineup Saturday night.…
