GROWLERS SIGN A NEW PLAYER

  The Newfoundland Growlers, have signed Forward Dylan Vander Esch to a standard ECHL player contract.   The 25 year old Vander Esch,appeared in seven  games this season with the Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League where he has tallied four goals and five assists for nine points and eight penalty minutes.  During the 2018-19 season, Vander Esch played in 49 games for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL where he totaled 25 points including 11 goals and four assists.…

      Karrington Ward, a 6’7 205lb wing from Lockport, Illinois has signed a 2019-2020 NBLC Player Contract with the St. John’s Edge.  Ward a 2015 graduate at Eastern Michigan University will begin his 5th season as a pro after stops in Luxemburg and the NBA G-League.   The individual scoring race in the Junior Hockey League is very close with one point separating the top scorer and the two players tied for second place. Memorial Sea Hawks have named their athletes of the week for the past weeks play. The male athlete of the week is again from the men’s basketball team. Cole Long helped MUN win two games this weekend against Acadia. In the first game he had 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
