EDGE SIGN ST. JOHN’S NATIVE FOR SEASON

   Noel Moffatt, a 6’5 190lb St. John’s native  has signed a 2019-2020 NBLC Player Contract with the St. John’s Edge.  Moffatt will be a second year pro after a stop with the Windsor Express.   Moffatt, the former two sport star at Gonzaga High School in St. John’s, played collegiately at Memorial University.  Over his five seasons with the Seahawks, Moffatt played in 86 games and had career averages of 5.4ppg and 7.7rpg.   ICE #1:   Defending Super League Champion Crosbie Group (skipped by Andrew Symonds) suffered an open hit for a 3-count in the third end against Service Master Restore (skipped by Nathan Young).   However that was the end of the scoring by this fine young Junior team.   Young had opened the scoring with an open hit against two counters in the first end.   There was nothing “open” about his shots in the remaining five ends as the Super League veterans, and the skip of Team NL in the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier, counted four singles and a pair.   There were lots of guards in play and…
