BASEBALL PLAYER TO TORONTO

  A St. John’s baseball player Danny Rice  has been selected to Team Atlantic for the T12 Baseball tournament September 14th to 18th in Toronto. The tournament is organized by the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy and Robbie Alomar. College and University scouts are in attendance and watch games and scout players for their respective colleges  or university. Rice plays for Holy Cross in the St. John’s Intermediate baseball league.…

    Marlins scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning and edged Monarchs 11-10. Both teams pounded out 24 hits in this contest. John Compton gets the win in relief of starter Garrett Anderson. Between them they allowed those ten runs on 11 hits allowed four walks and had seven strikeouts. The Monarchs used three pitchers Stephen Shephard the third pitcher takes the loss. Colton Kennedy and Dwayne Keough also saw mound duty.
