St. Johns WinMar Capitals lose their final game 3-0 to Chatham. Greg Barry started for the Caps gave up three runs on five hits in the five innings he worked. He walked four and fanned two. Sean janes came on in relief and finished the final two innings. He gave up two hits and walked one. The Caps had four hits in their game. The Hawks scored three runs in the third and seventh innings and defeat Monarchs 11-2 in Corner Brook Senior baseball play Friday. Veteran Frank Humber went the distance allowing seven hits, walked one and fanned three. Brad Brewer went four innings and takes the loss. He was roughed up for ten hits. He issued two free passes and struck out one. Stephen Sheppard came in relief. Mike Simms had a great night at the plate for the Hawks going five for five. Colton Kennedy homered for the losers. The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts will have to go through the Atlantic Provinces in order to get to the Allan Cup Tournament in April. The defending Herder Memorial champions earned the right to go into Allan Cup playdowns as they won the Herder last year. A team from new Brunswick has signified they want to play as well for the Allan Cup. Under current setup a region go to the Allan Cup. So Newfoundland would to have to play any teams from the Atlantic region to earn the right to go to the tournament in Manitoba. M E A…

It took eight innings but Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs edged NTV Hitmen 2-1 in senior fast pitch softball play. Sean Clear in relief of starter Liam Myers gets the win. Cleary pitched three innings did not give up a hit walked two and sent seven down swinging, Myers pitched five innings allowing three hits four walks and fanned eight. Robbie Green is the losing pitcher. He allowed two runs on eight hits and had eight strike outs.
