Shamrocks have taken the opening game of their best of five St John’s senior baseball semi-final series with Holy Cross. Dave Penney hit a solo home run in the third and Scott Goosney gets the win as the Green and Gold beat Holy Cross 6-4. Goosney was touched up for ten hits. He walked two and fanned three. The 2015-16 Provincial Senior Hockey League will start its season the last day of October and the first of November. The opening games on October 31 have Gander Flyers at Grand Falls Windsor to play the defending Herder Memorial Trophy winners Cataracts.
