The Bulldogs get a pitching and hitting performance from Sean Cleary to take a 10-3 six inning victory over NTV Hitmen. Cleary the pitcher went the six innings giving up five hits and recording 13 strikeouts. Cleary the batter had a three for four performance with two three run homers. The Brad Gushue curling team captured a World Curling Tour championship at the “AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic” in Cornwall, Ontario with a 5-4 extra end victory over Glen Howard Sunday. Gushue with the hammer scored the single point in the extra end. Team Gushue went through the event undefeated with eight straight victories including a semi-final win over Brad Jacobs.…
The St. John’s Senior Baseball semi-finals, both best of five, begin Tuesday night at St. Pats Ball Park. The opening game at six o clock will be the “A” series semi-final game between Shamrocks, who finished first in the league standings and fourth place Holy Cross. The first game of the “B” series between second place Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings and third place Feildians is scheduled to start at 8:15.
