The ECHL Board of Governors, in conjunction with the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, has announced that the 2020-21 Season will commence under a split-season format with the Newfoundland Growlers tentatively slated to start the 2020-21 Season on January 15th, 2021. While select ECHL member clubs will commence play on December 11th, 2020, the Newfoundland Growlers have opted to tentatively commit to the later January 15th, 2021 split-season option provided by the ECHL and Professional Hockey Players’ Association.   S A T U R D A Y Holy Cross Kirby Group defeated CBS That Pro Look 1-0 Saturday night  in the Johnson Insurance Challenge Cup semi final.  Jacob Grant scored the lone goal early in the second half. Sam Hawco recorded the shutout. Holy Cross will now meet Feildians in a rematch of Friday’s first versus second place  page playoff, which was won by Feildians.  The championship game will take place at King George V pitch at 4pm.
