Saturday was a busy day for rugby fans with five senior men’s test matches worldwide. At day’s end Canada, internationally ranked 18th  faced Japan, ranked 10th at BC Place in Vancouver. Canada led off scoring with Taylor Paris scoring a try just six minutes into play. At half time, Japan had a 13-12 lead. Softball Canada has named its 2016 National Junior Men’s softball team and a Newfoundland has made that team. Mitchell Stack of Petty Harbour was one of 17 players named to the Canadian team. Stack is a member of the Rob Roy Intermediate Men’s Fast pitch Team in the Molson St. John’s Intermediate Men’s Fastpitch League.
