    Ryan Morgan pitched a three hitter gave up one earned run and struck out eight as Storm down Holy Cross 5-3 in Intermediate baseball play Monday night at St. Pat’s.   David Edwards takes the loss. NFLD ATHLETE PASSES AWAY

    A well know Newfoundland athlete and member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Hall of Fame has passed away.   Dick Power a native of Bell Island passed away on Monday at the age of 75.   Power’s first provincial competition was with the Bell Island junior club in 1957, 1958 and 1959. His play was such that he was offered a playing position with the St. Catharines TeePees of the Ontario Junior Hockey League but he declined.       Mount Pearl took two games from Corner Brook in Challenge Cup Soccer play this weekend.   Sunday the Mount Pearl squad get three goals from Tyler Forsey and blank Corner Brook 3-nothing. Nick Power gets the shutout.   Saturday Mount Pearl take a 3-1 victory. Chad Seymour, Kevin Oram and Ronaldo Morris had the Mount Pearl goals.
