A well know Newfoundland athlete and member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Hall of Fame has passed away. Dick Power a native of Bell Island passed away on Monday at the age of 75. Power’s first provincial competition was with the Bell Island junior club in 1957, 1958 and 1959. His play was such that he was offered a playing position with the St. Catharines TeePees of the Ontario Junior Hockey League but he declined. In 1960 and 1961, Power was a major factor in St. John’s junior and senior championships for St. Pat’s as…
