October 19, 2025, St. John’s, N.L. – Ben Collingwood and Betsy Nicholson battled challenging weather to win the Capital Subaru Cape to Cabot 20k Road Race 2025.  Collingwood, the male winner, completed the course in 1:15:22, and Nicholson , the female winner, completed the course in 1:31:03.  Adrian Smith was second place male finisher at 1:18;22 and John Halley was third place male finisher at 1:19:58.  Katie Pirzada was second place female finisher at 1:35:33 and Courtney King was third place female finisher at 1:36:02.  Fan favourite Florence Barron, 87, captured the 80+ female category with a time of  2:35:57, and…

Holy Cross wins double gold at soccer nationals ST. JOHN’S, NL – Holy Cross dreamed of national gold, and on Monday they made those dreams come through not once, but twice, on home turf at historic King George V soccer pitch in St. John’s. The women led things off with a 2-1 victory over 2024 champions CS Trident – Ouest de Quebec.  Teri Murphy was named tournament MVP.  Holy Cross Nutra Holdings had previously won Jubilee Trophy national gold in 2022 and 2023 and had 15 players from those campaigns in the lineup. ST JOHN’S, NL – Strong performances on the senior men’s and women’s sides have booked the Holy Cross entries a spot in two national championship finals on Monday.
