  Chislett Whitten Law have advanced to the final of the Metro Basketball League.     Paul Morgan scored 22 points and Chislett Whitten Law defeated  Dr. Leslie Moss Professional Medical Corporation 58-50 to win the best of three series in straight games, John Madden scored 25 points for the losers Fougere Menchenton Architecture tied their series with M5 thanks to a 46-34 win in game two over M5 to force a third and deciding game.     S U N D A Y  Mount Pearl Blades are the 2017-18 St. John’s Junior Hockey League champions following a 5-1 win over CBR Renegades Sunday at the Glacier. Its the 5th Junior Hockey title for Mount Pearl. They claimed titles in 1986, 2003, 2007 and 2009. Michael Broaders, Mitchell McGrath, Stephen Predham, Jason Tavernor and Brad Normore  scored for Mount Pearl. CAPS WIN EAST CROWN. HEADED TO HERDER

  S U N D A Y    The St. John’s Caps are the East Coast Senior Hockey League champions. John Ryan scored at 4:16 of overtime to give the Caps a 5-4 win over Southern Shore Breakers. They win the best of seven final four games to two and now face Clarenville Caribous in a best of seven final for the Herder Memorial Trophy. Dr Leslie Moss Professional Medical Corporation and M5 advanced to the semi-finals of the Metro Basketball League.   In quarter final play Thursday night   Dr Leslie Moss defeated Marco Construction 55-50. John Madden led the winners with 25 points. Brad Drover had 20 for the losers.   M5 moved on with a close 50-44 win over Maries.
