CHALLENGE CUP SEASON STARTS MAY 27TH

  The Challenge Cup Soccer schedule for 2018 has been released. This season there will be six teams competing for the championship and they include defending champions Holy Cross, St. Lawrence, Feildians, CBS, Mount Pearl, and a new entry from Paradise.   The 2018 season begins on May 27th with Holy Cross playing Feildians at four o’clock at King George Fifth Teams will play 20 games during the regular season.   Final weekend will take place August 31-September 2 in Mount Pearl.   Date Time Home Team Away Team Field Sun May 27th 4pm Holy Cross Feildians KGV Sat Jun…

This contest saw the teams exchange leads 12 times throughout the game. PARADISE BASEBALL GETS GRANT FROM BLUE JAYS

      The Paradise Minor Baseball Association received some good news from the Jays Cares Foundation.   Under the 2018 Field of Dreams Grants 16 communities in Canada will receive funding to upgrade their facilities.   Spokesman Craig Walker thanked the foundation saying with their help the Associations goal of getting lights at Peter Barry Duff Park is closer to being a reality.…

  Senior Male Player of the Year SEAN CLEARY (HARBOUR MAIN) Sean turned in a dominating performance in the pitching circle on the Local and Provincial scene in 2017. He also enjoyed success as a member of Softball Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team at the Bob Law Memorial Challenge and the WBSC XV Men’s World Championship and with the Can-Am Twins, his ISC travel league team, at the ISC World Fastball Tournament. WINDY BUT 1ST ROAD RACE OF SEASON HELD

With winds gusting at time to 80 kilometers an hour 220 runners finished the race.   Nicol Samuel DeLohnni was the first across the finishing line in the Boston Pizza Flat out 5K event. His winning time was 16 minutes and 22 seconds. Levi Moulton was second in 17:19 and Peter Bazley third in 17:24.
