NFLD SENIOR HOCKEY WILL HAVE A NEW LOOK

  Senior hockey in Newfoundland will look very different this year. There will be seven teams playing in senior hockey but the East League will have five teams. St. John’s Caps, Southern Shore Breakers, CBS Blues, Northeast Eagles, Clarenville Caribous. The Gander Flyers and Grand Falls Cataracts will compete as well but in interlocking. Teams from the east will play Gander and Grand Falls in interlocking games once in each others rinks. Now the other change is with regard to the provincial championship and the Herder Memorial Trophy. This season’s Herder Memorial Championship will see four (4) NSHL teams qualify…

      Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Republic are the 2018 Intermediate Fastpitch softball champions as they defeated CBC Junior Canadians 6-3. They win the best of five final in straight games. Playoff MVP Ward Gosse pitched the win on a three hitter and ten strikeouts. Eric Healey was tagged with the loss.
