TWO GROWLERS PLAYERS CALLED UP TO MARLIES

  Two members of the Newfoundland Growlers have been called up the Toronto Maple Leafs  American Hockey affiliate the Toronto Marlies. Zach O’Brien and Hudson Elynuik were called up Tuesday by the Marlies. O Brien has played in 40 games and has scored 20 goals and added 28 assists for 48 points making him the Growlers top scorer.   Elynuik has appeared in 32 games and has eight goals and 19 assists.…

MUN BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN SCORING TITLE RACE

  It’s been a good season for Memorial Sea Hawks women’s basketball player Sydney Stewart. She is third in the league scoring having played 18 games and averaging 21.4 points per game. Teammate Sydney Ezekiel is 9th in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game. The men’s scoring race is now down between Nathan Barker of Memorial and Osman Omar of Cape Breton . Omar is averaging 21.9 points a game and Barker is averaging 21.7 points per game. And Barkers teammate Emanuel Ring is a distant third averaging 16.1 points per game.…

EDGE LOSE TO WINDSOR

  The St. John’s Edge dropped the first game of their five-game road trip to the Windsor Express by a score of 123-116 on Wednesday night at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, ON. This was a different looking Windsor team than the Edge saw on the weekend at Mile One Centre. The Express had the services of Juan Patillo and Ryan Anderson back in the lineup for this one and it showed early on what an impact these two players would have on this game.
