The St. John’s Edge dropped their first meeting of the season with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans on Saturday night on the short end of a  117-105 win by the Titans at The Aud in Kitchener, ON. Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis  and Junior Cadougan led the Edge with 24 points each. The Edge are now 17-14 on the season first in the Central Division and fourth overall. team will now have a day for travel Sunday  then head up north to visit the Sudbury Five for action Monday.…

S U N D A Y The Growlers now have not lost their last eight games following a 4-1 win over Brampton Sunday. They improve to 36-14-4 on the season. Josh Kestner, Evan Neugold, Marcus Power and Derian Plouffe had the goals Sunday. Zach O’Brien picked up an assist on Power goal and is the first Growler to reach 50 points this season. O’Brien has 20 goals and 30 assists on the season. Eamon McAdam faces 24 shots Sunday and made 23 saves. The teams were tied 1-1 after the first and it was a 4-1 lead after two. S…

S U N D A Y Trinity Placentia Flyers have evened their best of three junior hockey quarter finals with Southern Shore Breakers with a 7-4 win Sunday. William Hickey led the winners with two goals. Justin Edison,Jordan Pomeroy, Tyler Whittle, Liam Shea and Andrew Parsons had the other goals. Kieran O’Driscoll tallied twice for the Shore. A J Doyle and Brendan Houlihan had the other goals. S A T U R D A Y Memorial women’s team lost to Dalhousie 66-64 on Saturday. Sydney Ezekiel had 19 points for MUN and Sydney Stewart 14.  Memorial finished 5th in the standings and are in the playoffs. They will play Dalhousie in the quarter finals next weekend. In Mens play Memorial lost 79-61 to Dal . Nathan Barker with 23 Memorial points. Memorial men;s team also in the playoffs as they finished in a tie for sixth with UPEI and and Acadia. Based on a formula the Sea hawks are in the playoffs and face Dalhousie as well.…

S A T U R D A Y The Royals finish up the playoff round Saturday against Port aux Basques with a 9-5 win and go undefeated in the double round robin playoffs round. Matt Colbourne scored five times for the Royals in this game. Adam Guy, Alex Hillier, David Budgell and Josh Smith rounded out the scoring for the Royals.
