Good news for Softball Newfoundland Labrador and women’s softball in this province. Newfoundland will host the 2019 Women’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship in St. John’s from Aug. 14-18. Softball Newfoundland Labrador also announced that Paddy Phillips will be the Chairperson of the 2019 Softball Canada Women’s Canadian Fastpitch Championship Host Committee. Phillips was a member of the Host Committees for the 2007 & 2016 Men’s & Master Men’s Canadian Fastpitch Championships held in St. John’s. The National Basketball League of Canada has fined and suspended Glen Davis of the St. John’s Edge one game for his actions detrimental to the league during Game 3 of the NBL Canada Semi Finals.
