WELL KNOW SPORTS ATHLETE AND VOLUNTEER PASSES AWAY

1 min read

The Newfoundland Sports Community today is mourning the loss of one of its greatest volunteers.

Murray Chaplin a long time member of the Guards Athletic Association, Athlete, Coach and Volunteer passed away this weekend. Murray was 83.

Chaplin, when I first met him, was at St.Pat’s Ball Park. Murray was a player with Guards and later coach. I also had the privilege of serving on the GAA with Murray for several years.

Many people will probably remember Murray as a Volunteer with the AHL St. John’s Maple Leafsand other teams that followed. He will be missed.

RIP Murray my friend.
