Two Memorial Sea Hawks Alumni Basketball players have been named to the Top 100 U SPORTS women’s basketball players of the Century. Jenine Browne MacFadden and Katherine Quackenbush Morrow are the two former Memorial players who were named to the list  Browne’s career with the Sea-Hawks spanned from the 2000-01 season to the 2004-05 season. She was named AUS rookie of the year in 2001, AUS defensive player of the year in 2003, and she earned an unmatched four consecutive AUS MVP awards from 2002 to 2005. GROWLERS WIN END TWO GAME LOSING STREAK ON THIS ROAD TRIP

  S U N D A Y The Growlers two game losing streak came to an end Sunday. The Growlers scored four second period goals en route to a 9-1 thrashing of Jacksonville Icemen. Justin Brazeau scored four times in this contest and Brady Ferguson added two. Marcus Power, Miles Gendron and Zack O’Brien had singles.  The Growlers now have 75 points with 38 wins 17 losses and shootout loss. S A T U R D A Y Deer Lake Red Wings have advanced to the finals of the West Coast Senior Hockey League. They improved to 3-0 in the double round robin playoff series as they edged Port aux Basques 5-4. The Corner Brook Royals are 1-2 and the Mariners 0-3. F R I D A Y   The Clarenville Caribous have advanced to the semi-finals of the East Coast Senior Hockey League as they defeated Conception Bay CeeBee Stars 5-2.  Kenny Mahoney, Chris Sparkes, Justin Pender, Chad Earle and Rod Mahoney scored for Clarenville.  Jesse Morris and Matthew Thomey replied for the CeeBee Stars.    CB Blues downed the Northeast Eagles 6-4 to grab a two games to one lead in that semi final series.   S A T U R D A Y The basketball season ended for the Sea Hawks women’s team as they lost in the semi-final game 93-77 to Acadia. Haillie Nickerson had 18 points for Memorial in this contest.     F R I D A Y  Memorial Sea Hawks women’s Basketball team is on to the semi-finals in the AUS championship round.
