The 203rd Annual Royal St John’s Regatta ran this year but without the usual fifty thousand people and vendors packing the banks of Quidi Vidi Lake for the largest garden party in Newfoundland. Due to the still risk of COVID-19 vendors and beer tents were canned and people wer actually asked to stay away from the public park. As a runner, he fashioned an extremely impressive list of competitions within athletics. He entered the annual Telegram Ten 20 times and was a winner in 1973, had six marathon runs and was outstanding in a series of distance events in many different locations.
