      Goulds native James Melindy has re-signed with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League. He gets a one year contract with the farm team of the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. He played last season with both the East Coast Hockey Leagues Wichita Thunder and the Gulls.     Corner Brook Barons had a successful weekend at the 2nd annual Bluebird Investments Grand Falls Windsor Braves Female Classic‎. The U12 AAA girls team had a perfect 4-0 round robin record setting up a rematch with St. John’s in the final with the Barons recording a 7-4 victory.
