  Southern Shore Breakers scored four first period goals and coasted to a 7-2 win over Northeast Eagles as the East Coast Hockey League began its season Friday night.   Scott McCarthy and Stephen Oates tallied twice for the winners.     Daryl Budgell hooped 19 points and Bruce Helm added 17 and Fougere Menchenton downed Dr Leslie Moss Professional Medical Corporation 62-54 in Metro Basketball play. Mark Squires and Mike Pope had 12 points each for the losers. Adam Smith had a 16 point performance and Marco Construction came away with a 53-42 decision over Chislett Whitten Law.     The St. John’s Edge have signed two more players. Center Rudolphe Joly and Forward Vernon Goodridge. The 25-year-old, Joly, a native of Quebec City, Canada, appeared in 23 regular season games over two seasons with Windsor Express of the NBLC. Joly, 6-foot-10, 280 pounds, averaged .603 (32-for-53) field goal percentage with the Express. Joly was named league MVP of the 2016 Vietnam Basketball association after averaging 24.2 points per game with the Danang Dragons in 16 games.
