Christopher Galley won the 2018 Harbour Front 10K road race Sunday. He covered the course in 33 minutes and 5 seconds.Nick Snow was second with a time of 34 minutes and seven seconds. Tyler Cole was third and is time was 34 minutes and 42 seconds. Kate Bazeley was the first female to finish and her time was 35:54. Lisa Collins Shephard was second and her time was 36:20. The third female finisher was Jennifer Barron in 37:50. 266 runners finished the race. …
Newfoundland’s under 18 boys and girls provincial soccer teams capped off a winning weekend at King George V pitch in St. John’s on Sunday with victories over Prince Edward Island. Both teams finished with perfect 3-0 records to capture top honours at the Atlantic Showcase. Newfoundland and Labrador U18 girls defeated PEI 1-nothing on a goal by Sara Lewis. Ashley Stringer got the shutout. Newfoundland and Labrador U18 boys edged PEI 2-1. Kyle Ryan and Ethan Slaney had the goals. …

17 year old Alex Newhook of St.John’s has been named the CJHL’s rookie of the year. Playing for the Victoria Grizzlies Newhook played 45 games and had 22 goals and 44 assists for 66 points. He had a ten game points streak from December 6th to 9th and had 26 points in that period. He has committed to play for Boston College in 2019-20 season.…
